What is the project about?
The Safety and Security Action Learning Set (SASALS) comprises of learners, parents and teachers from six high schools in the Northern Areas namely; Arcadia , Bertram, Booysen’s Park High, Chatty, Sanctor and Westville. SASALS is co-constructing a safety and security plan which will be implemented in the schools. SASALS is one of the Golden thread projects – these are projects which are led by the CCS, developed in collaboration with identified stakeholders of the school and implemented in all schools.
Aim of the project
⦁ Development of an organic safety and security framework for the six schools
⦁ Developed a survey based on data collected from the various stakeholders in the school

Successes obtained/events held
1. Creation of a co-constructed security framework that was workshopped with the learners, teachers, schools and the community
